OBITUARY: Alfred Norman Nubson, 1889-1935, Mitchell County, Iowa Alfred Norman Nubson Alfred Norman Nubson, son of Christopher and Marit Lindelien Nubson, was born on September 4, 1889 at the Nubson home in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, IA. He died on May 29, 1935, the cause of death being strangulated croup. He was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church and his entire life was spent in the Rock Creek Lutheran community. At he age of four, his father died and at age 16 he took charge of the farm, at which time his brother, Nels, left for Dakota. Alfred has always been a faithful standby in the parental home, and was much needed at this time by his aged mother, to whom he has always shown so much consideration. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother; one brother, Nels, of Carrington, ND; six sisters: Mrs. Lauritz (Rachel) Norby, Mrs. Harold (Anne Marie) Fosholdt, Mrs. Carl (Martha) Field, Mrs. Gunia Ask, all of this vicinity, and Lena and Alma at home. Three nephews, three nieces, and one grandniece also survive him. Alfred was a faithful son, a kind brother, a good neighbor, and a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten. The Rev. O.C. Myhre at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church conducted funeral services on June 3, 1935. Interment was in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery. Copyright 2005, Steve Norby
