OBITUARY: Bertina Mathilda (Torblaa) Olson, 1884-1948, Mitchell County, Iowa Bertina Mathilda Torblaa Olson Funeral services for Mrs. Bertina Olson, 64, were held Tuesday afternoon, September 21, 1948 at the Champion Funeral home and at Rock Creek Lutheran church with the Rev. S.O. Sorlien in charge. Burial was made in the Rock Creek cemetery. Mrs. Olson died suddenly Saturday morning, September 18, 1948 in the doctor’s office. She had not been ill before Saturday. Bertina Mathilda Torblaa was born June 30, 1884 in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Ole Torblaa. She attended the Cedar Township and Osage schools. On March 15, 1908 she was married to Gustav Olson and the couple made their home in Cedar Township, where they lived all their lives. Three children were born to this union, all of whom survive. Mr. Olson died two years ago. Surviving are the children: Olaf, Mrs. Gladys Shoger, and Glenn, all of Osage; four grandchildren; a brother, L.O. Torblaa, of Grafton, ND; and two sisters, Clara Torblaa and Mrs. Ida Dahley, both of Osage. Copyright 2005, Steve Norby
