OBITUARY: Rhoda (Fods) Ones, 1879-1947, Mitchell County, Iowa Rhoda Fods Ones Funeral services were held Monday, January 20, 1947 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church for Mrs. John Ones, 67. Mrs. Ones died last Thursday at the state hospital at Independence where she had been a patient for two years. The Rev. S.O. Sorlien conducted last rites and burial was made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery. Rhoda Fods was born on July 12, 1879 in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Ole and Carrie Fedge Fods. She was married on March 5, 1905 to John Ones and the couple established their first home on a farm in Rock Township. In 1909 they moved to Tolley, ND, and in 1920 they returned to Rock Township. Survivors include her husband; four daughters: Mrs. Glen McClellan of Mason City, Mrs. Ezra Tebbin of Rolfe, Mrs. Truman Flaaten of Kensett, and Truly at home; four sons: Fods and Birchard of Mason City, and John and Justin at home. Also surviving are six grandchildren, a brother and a sister, Emma and Olaf Fods, both of Charles City. Ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Copyright 2005, Steve Norby
