OBITUARY: Iver Ones, 1854-1947, Mitchell County, Iowa Iver Ones Funeral services were held for Iver I. Ones, 93, at the Champion Funeral Home and at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church with the Rev. S.O. Sorlien in charge. Burial was made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery. Mr. Ones died Monday December 2, 1947 after suffering a stroke. He had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ida Nydegger, of Des Moines the past two years. Iver I. Ones was born in Stavanger, Norway in May 1854. He was married in 1882 to Ingeborg Arno. They immigrated to America after their marriage, establishing their first home at Ossian, Iowa. They came to Mitchell County in 1886, settling on a farm in Rock Township. Mrs. Ones died in 1938 and in 1945 Mr. Ones went to Des Moines to live. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Emma Nelson, of Osage, and Mrs. Ida Nydegger of Des Moines, two sons: John, of Osage and Christ, of Tolley, North Dakota.
