OBITUARY: Thomas Kerner Paulson, 1893-1971, Mitchell County, Iowa Thomas Kerner Paulson Thomas K. Paulson, 78, died at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa, on November 9, 1971, following a short illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 13 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald L. Berg was in charge of the service. Burial was made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery. The Sheckler Funeral Home of Nora Springs was in charge of the arrangements. Thomas Kerner Paulson was born on June 1, 1893 in West Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, to Gjert and Anna Dardahl Paulson. He was baptized and later confirmed his Christian faith at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, where he remained a life-long member. He was educated in the rural schools of Mitchell County and lived most of his life in the area where he was born, farming until his retirement and movement to Nora Springs, where he lived for the last dozen years. His parents; two brothers, Gustav and Herman; one half-brother, Knute Paulson; and two half-sisters: Mrs. David Gates and Mrs. Henry Espseth preceded him in death. Two sisters survive him: Mrs. Alma Gast, of Osage, and Mrs. Birdie Huebner, of Plymouth, plus many nieces and nephews. Copyright 2005, Steve Norby
