OBITUARY: Twyla Paulson, 1928-2005, Mitchell County, Iowa [ Based on an Obituary in the Mitchell County Press-News Online -- www.mcpress.com -- Posted February 2, 2005 ] Twyla Paulson Funeral services for Twyla Paulson, 76, of Marshalltown, Iowa, were held at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel, 1301 Summit Street, Marshalltown, Iowa, on Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, with Chaplain Craig Nelson officiating. She will be cremated and interment will be at Rock Creek Lutheran Church cemetery, rural Osage, Iowa, at a later date. Twyla died Wednesday (Jan. 26, 2005) at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Twyla was born April 18, 1928 in Mitchell County, the daughter of Gus and Margaret (Bahnsen) Paulson. She was a member, baptized, and confirmed in Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Osage, Iowa. Twyla graduated from Osage High School in 1946, entered the Army and was honorably discharged April 14, 1952. Twyla was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary and VFW. She traveled the country and spent much of her life working a variety of jobs. Twyla is survived by two sisters, Joyce Hveem, Osage, Iowa, Bonnie and husband, John Picht, Plymouth, Iowa; one brother, Dr. V.C. Paulson and wife Joan, Greenbrae, Calif.; her sister-in-law Bernice Paulson, Osage, Iowa; and 15 loving nieces and nephews and friends galore. Twyla was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gaylon and brother- in-law, Hans Hveem. Because of Twyla's strong desire to help young children in need, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be designated to go to children's Make-a-Wish program.
