OBITUARY: Earl Herbert Pilgrim, 1916-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa [Based on Obituary in Mason City Globe Gazette; December 4, 1997] Earl Herbert Pilgrim MASON CITY, IOWA-- Earl Herbert Pilgrim, 80, of 830 S. Fifth St., Osage, Iowa, and formerly of Mason City, died Saturday (Nov. 29, 1997) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City. Funeral services will be held today at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Jerry Newland, of the Osage First Baptist Church, officiating. Earl Herbert Pilgrim was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Osage, son of William and Ruth (Bigelow) Pilgrim. He married Mary Francis Galkin on Sept. 5, 1953, in Mason City. Earl grew up in the Osage area and worked on area farms. He worked at Mercy Hospital for 13 years until he and his family moved to Rockford where he worked for Trenttian's Hatchery until retiring. Survivors include one son, Jerry Pilgrim and his wife, Karri, Ewa Beach, Hawaii; two grandchildren, Aaron Michael and Nicholas Adam Pilgrim, both of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; one sister, Wildora Merrill.
