                          Effie Retterath

STACYVILLE, IOWA-- Funeral services will be held on Friday at Visitation
Catholic Church, for Effie Retterath, 84, of Stacyville, who died Tuesday,
Nov. 4, 1997, at the Austin Medical Center, Austin, Minnesota.  The Rev.
Joseph Schneider will officiate, and burial will be in Visitation Church
Cemetery.

Effie Retterath was born April 30, 1913, at Parkersburg, Iowa.

Survivors include six daughters, Rosann Meyer, Austin, Minn.; Phyllis
Retterath, Janesville; Bev Theobald, Stacyville; Dorothy Crooks, Rudd;
Mary Crooks, Charles City, and Martha Hoevet, Stacyville. . . .

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, three
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and 12 brothers and sisters.

Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements.
