OBITUARY: Edwin R. Seaton, 1912-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa [Based on Obituary in Mason City Globe Gazette; October 20, 1997] Edwin R. Seaton OSAGE, IOWA-- Edwin R. Seaton, age 85, of Osage, died Friday, Oct. 17, 1997, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held today at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, with the Rev. Robert Barrick officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with Masonic Rites by Osage Masonic Lodge Edwin was born on May 3, 1912, in Montpelier, North Dakota, the son of Roy O. And Hazel (Russel) Seaton. As a youth, he moved to Osage with his family. Edwin graduated from the Osage High School in 1931. He served with the United States Army during World War II. After returning from the war, he owned and operated Seaton Motor Sales along with his brother Dean. He was a 50-year member of the American Legion and 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include one sister, Veda Donald, Osage; one brother, Dean Seaton, Osage; a niece, Phoebe Snittjer and her husband, Charles, of Osage; a great-niece, Melissa Gerace and her husband, Garry.
