OBITUARY: Guri (Docken) Schoger, 1859-1921, Mitchell County, Iowa Guri Docken Schoger Mrs. Guri Schoger was born on August 13, 1859 in the Rock Creek community to Tidemand and Gunhild Aslesen Docken. The years of her childhood and youth were spent in her native home. She was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran church. In the spring of 1880 she was married to Mr. Julian Schoger at Grand Forks, N.D. In the spring of 1888, they returned to Iowa and lived about three years on their farm in the Rock Creek community. Later they moved to Osage at which place she lived until the time of her death. The following near relatives are left to mourn her passing: her husband, Julian Schoger; her mother, Gunhild Docken; Ole Docken, Minneapolis; Gabriel, Elvin and Thea Docken, all at home; and Mrs. S.J. (Antonette) Maakestad and Mrs. Nick (Olava) Peterson, of Rock Creek; and Mrs. G.O. (Karine) Brager and Mrs. Anton (Mathia) Iverson of Osage. The departed has suffered ill health many years. She died on March 9, 1921, the cause of her death being pneumonia. The funeral was held March 10, the Rev. O.C. Myhre officiating. Internment was in the Osage cemetery. Copyright 2005, Steve Norby
