OBITUARY: Anna (Thompson) Paulson, 1867-1933, Mitchell County, Iowa Anna Thompson Paulson Mrs. Anna Thompson Paulson was born on the farm Dordahl, Hogsfjord, Norway on September 5, 1867. She grew to womanhood at her native place. In 1890 she came to America and located temporarily at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ole P. Field. On November 17, 1892, she was united in marriage to Gjert K. Paulson of Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. They located on their farm in Cedar Township where she continued to live until the time of her death. In her wedlock five children, three sons and two daughters were born. Besides her husband, all these children survive: Thomas and Herman, both at home; Gustav, of Rock Township; Mrs. Herbert (Birdie) Huebner and Mrs. Clifford (Alma) Gast, both of this community. There are also seven sisters surviving: Mrs. Karen Voll, Norway; Mrs. Martha Berg and Mrs. Bertha Orr, Clinton, Washington; Mrs. Thea Thompson, Astoria, Oregon; Mrs. Gunda Kettleson, Rolette, North Dakota; and Mrs. Mathilda Swift, of Lime Springs, Iowa. Twelve grandchildren and three stepchildren also survive. The departed sister was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church of Norway and since coming to this country has been an active member of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church and Ladies' Aid society. Mrs. Paulson has been a woman of a quiet, kind, and winning disposition, a faithful wife, a good mother, and a true friend and will be greatly missed. She had enjoyed good health until about fifteen years ago. On May 5th, she was taken seriously ill with pneumonia and her condition became critical. This ailment together with other complications, unexpectedly and suddenly terminated her life on May 11, 1933. Blessed be mother's memory. Funeral services were conducted at the home and in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on May 15th by the Rev. O.C. Myhre. Interment was made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery.
