OBITUARY: Russell Thorsen, 1931-2005, Mitchell County, Iowa

Russell Thorsen, age 73, of Rockford, Illinois, went home to be with his
Lord on Friday, March 11, 2005 after he lost a courageous battle with a
brain tumor.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 14, 2005 at Fred C. Olson
Funeral Chapels, Ltd., East Chapel, Rockford, Illinois, with the Rev.
Charles Sensel officiating; and interment was in the Scandinavian Cemetery
in Rockford.

Russell was born March 25, 1931 in Osage, Iowa, the son of Clarence and
Olga (Havig) Thorsen. He married Sonia Evans on Dec. 4, 1954 in Knoxville,
Tennessee.   He was employed as an associate engineer for Sundstrand for
23 years, retiring in 1990. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air
Force during the Korean War.

Preceding him in death was one daughter, Deborah Thorsen; his parents; one
brother and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Sonia; two sons, Mike and Doug Thorsen, and
one daughter Lori Siner, all of Rockford, Illinois; one beloved grandson,
Shane Siner of Rockford; and a brother and his wife, Hub and Wanda Thorsen
of Osage.
