OBITUARY: William E. Virchow, 1927-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa

                         William E. Virchow

William E. Virchow, age 69, of Hudson, Iowa, and formerly of Osage, Iowa,
died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1997, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 12, at the United Church of 
Christ, Reinbeck, with the Rev. Joel Love officiating. Interment will be
in the Osage Cemetery.   Military rites will be provided by the Waterloo
AMVETS Post 19, and the Osage American Legion Post 278.

William E. Virchow was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Osage.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanita, of Hudson; two daughters, Vicki Jean
Bicket and her husband, Tom, of Reinbeck, and Darlene Ann Kanfield of Cedar
Falls; and two grandchildren, Timothy W. Bicket and Justin Virchow Kanfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Dahl Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, is in charge of
arrangements.
