Funeral services for Ernest K. Alder, 77, who died here June 8, were held
June 10 at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home here with the Rev. Bruce Wittern,
pastor of the St. Ansgar United Methodist church, officiating.

Ernest Kermit Alder was born October 15, 1905 in Dumont, the son of Edward
K. and Anna (Martin) Alder. He made his home in Waterloo most of his life
where he was a roofer.

Mr. Alder married Kathleen May Wylie April 15, 1939 in Waterloo. Two sons
and a daughter were born to them. Mr. and Mrs. Alder moved to St. Ansgar
in May 1980. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, and a sister,
Emo Eck.

Mr. Alder is survived by his wife, Kathleen of St. Ansgar; two sons, Ronald
of St. Ansgar and Gary of St. Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Shirley Webb of
Cottage Grove, Minn.; six grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Roberts of
Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, Clifford of Evansdale.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with Rev. Wittern in charge of
committal services.
