OBITUARY: Kenneth Angell, 1896-c1976, Mitchell County, Iowa Rites here for Kenneth Angell Funeral services for Kenneth Angell, 80, a former Osage man who died Dec. 6, at a nursing home in Austin, were held Thursday at the Champion Funeral Home here. The Rev. Lyle Norris, pastor of the Congregational Church was in charge of the services. Military honors were conducted at the Osage cemetery by the honor guard of VFW Post 7920. Kenneth (Kay) Angell was born in Burr Oak township, Mitchell county, Feb. 24, 1896, the son of Elliott E. and Lois Scammon Angell. He attended the Burr Oak school, was graduated from Osage high school, and enrolled at Iowa State University in Ames. He was one of the first draftees from Mitchell county in World War I, serving two years in France. Mr Angell was a 50-year member of the American Legion in Austin and was also a member of VFW Post 7920. He was married to Marie Dynes in 1921. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Lois Crawford of Arlington, Va.; one grandson, James Barrett of Los Angeles; one sister, Mrs. Ona Bivens of Clearwater, Fla.; nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Mrs Harry E. Counsell (Edna). This obituary is not to be used for commerical purposes.
