OSAGE, IOWA--Funeral services for Wendy Jean Arickx, age 52, of Osage,
were held Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Mitchell,
with Rev. Wayne Ellingson and Irmgard Ellingson, Associate in Ministry,
officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell. Wendy died suddenly on
Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at her home in Osage, following a lengthy illness.
                                                                          
Wendy was born Feb. 26, 1953, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Wendell and
Juanita (Wells) Buringrud. She graduated from Armjeo High School in
Fairfield, California.  Following high school, she moved to Iowa to be
with her family.

Wendy married Donald Arickx on November 2, 1974, at the Faith Lutheran
Church in Mitchell. They lived in Mitchell raising their family. Donald
died on July 7, 1995. Wendy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in
Mitchell and enjoyed attending services there. She loved music and her
family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald Arickx; a
sister Iris Buringrud; and her father-in-law Ray Arickx, Sr.

Wendy is survived by two sons, Josh Arickx and wife Sara of St. Cloud,
Minnesota, and Adam Arickx of Iowa City; a daughter Erin Smith and husband
David of Osage; a brother Mike Buringrud and wife Dawn and their children,
Kasey, Karah, and Michael, Jr. of St. Ansgar; a sister Tommie Niland and
husband Tom and their children Jack and Matthew of El Paso, Texas; and
her mother-in-law Juanita Arickx of Osage.
