OBITUARY: Joseph Duren, 1939-1999, Mitchell County, Iowa Joseph Duren Joseph U. Duren, 59, of Stacyville, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at his home. He was born on July 28, 1939 in Stacyville the son of John and Mary (Weber) Duren. He grew up and lived in the Stacyville area his entire life. He married Violet Wilde on Sept. 24, 1960, at Stacyville. They farmed and he had a sand and gravel business. He was always there to help his friends and neighbors in their time of need. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Violet, Stacyville; three sons Mark Duren and his two sons Shawn and Allen, Stacyville, Brian Duren, Stacyville, Todd Duren, Plattsburg, Mo.; three sisters Madgline Blaser, Austin, Percilla Kiefer and her husband Vernon, Adams, Olga Thurnau and her husband John Jr., St. Ansgar; six brothers E.R. Duren and wife Irene, Austin, Steve Duren and wife Jeanette, Austin, Ray Duren, Osage, Otto Duren and his wife Joyce, Lyle, Hugh Duren and wife Barbara, Arlington Heights, Ill., John Duren Jr., Osage, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald, a nephew and a great nephew. Services were held on Saturday, April 3, 1999, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with the Father Gregory Leif and Father Joseph Schneider officiating.
