OBITUARY: Monica (Bissen) (Green) Earl, 1914-2000, Mitchell County, Iowa Monica Earl Monica Earl, 85, of Stacyville, Iowa, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa. She was born April 25, 1914, near Stacyville, the daughter of John and Mary (Curry) Hofmeister. She recieved her education at Visitation Catholic School in Stacyville, graduating in 1932. She married Ralph Green on April 15, 1936, in Stacyville; he died in 1951. She then married George C. Earl on Oct. 15, 1960, in Stacyville; he died in 1993. She lived in Stacyville her entire life. She was employed by Dr. T.E. Blong and Dr. Robert Smith, and later was the bookeeper for the Stacyville Coop Creamery. She was a member of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Theresa (Leon) Hackenmiller, Stacyville; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughteers, Carol (Paul) Colburn, Waukesha, Wis., and Jane (Dick) Fossum, Big Bend, Wis.; a stepson, Frank Earl, Ankeny; 10 stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Ralph Green and George C. Earl, a daughter, Pat Kramer and son-in-law Leonard Kramer, three brothers and an infant sister. Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with the Father Joseph Schneider officiating. Interment was in Visitation Catholic Cemetery.
