OBITUARY: Carol Marie (Sponheim) Feldt, 1924-1983, Mitchell Co., Iowa Mrs. Leland Feldt Funeral Held at Immanuel Lutheran Funeral services for Mrs. Leland Feldt, 58, rural St. Ansgar, who died at Mercy hospital in Mason City, Iowa, on February 18, 1983, were held February 21 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church here, with the Rev. Norman Betke officiating. Carol Marie Sponheim Feldt was born August 2, 1924 in Rock township, Mitchell county, Iowa, the daughter of Selmer and Florence (Meyer) Sponheim. She was baptized on September 14, 1924 at the home of her parents, by Rev. M.E. Waldeland, pastor of First Lutheran Church. She was confirmed at First Lutheran church here, May 14, 1939 by Rev. O.A. Langehough. She married Leland Feldt on Sept. 12, 1943 at First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar. Six children, one son and five daughters were born to them. She is survived by her husband, Leland; five daughters, Mrs. Marshall (Bonnie) Christiansen of Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) Thompson of Britt, Iowa; Mrs. Joel (Nancy) Hopkins of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. John (Betty) Borchardt of Plymouth; Mrs. Kenneth (Kathy) Wiebbeck of Brandon; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Selmer Sponheim of St. Ansgar; one sister, Mrs. Melvin (Marlys) Dass of Princeton, Minnesota; nine grandchildren.... She was preceded in death by one son, Gene, in 1947. Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery, with Rev. Betke in charge of the committal service.
