OBITUARY: John "Jack" Fritcher, 1917-2005, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Original version posted Nov. 30, 2005 in www.mcpress.com ] John "Jack" Fritcher John "Jack" Fritcher, age 88, of Lime Springs, Iowa passed away at the Riceville Community Rest Home in Riceville on Monday, November 21, 2005. Funeral services were held at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville on Wednesday, November 23 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Christensen officiating. Burial was in the Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga. John Wells Fritcher was born on September 14, 1917 to John Webster and Mozelle DeMoss (Wells) Fritcher in Mitchell County, west of Mitchell, Iowa. He attended local schools. On April 14, 1940 "Jack" was united in marriage to Ruth Loden in Northwood. "Jack" was a farmer in the Lime Springs area until his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two sons, John E. "Butch" and his wife Beverly of Lime Springs, and Robert J. "Pete," also of Lime Springs; two daughters, JoAnn and her husband Dennis Fox of Rochester, Minn. and Janet and her husband Leroy Dahlke of Riceville. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Fritcher of Lime Springs and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Jean and Ruth Ann; a brother, Dick Fritcher, and a sister, Lula Hahn. Copyright 2005 - K. L. Kittleson
