OBITUARY: Adele (Hartwig) Boening, 1893-1982, Mitchell County, Iowa (Pub: Jan 1982, St. Ansgar Enterprise) Funeral Services For Adele Boening Held at Faribault Funeral services for Mrs. Otto (Adele) Boening, 88, of Faribault, who passed away, January 17, were held Wednesday, January 20 from the Peace Lutheran church there. Otto and Adele lived many years in the St. Ansgar area where they were owners and operators of the St. Ansgar Mill. Mrs. Boening, the daughter of William and Emma Schilke Hartwig, was born August 17, 1893 in Osage. She married Mr. Boening June 10, 1914 in Osage, and he died in 1973. She is survived by three sons, Walter of Hokah; Waldemar of LaCenter; Paul of St.Paul; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Gertrude) Van Gorder of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) Nachtwey of Portland, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Selma Moeckli of Phoenix, Ariz., and Miss Matie Hartwig of New Hampton. She was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar.
