OBITUARY: Irene (Blaser) Jax, 1910-2001, Mitchell County, Iowa

        


                              Irene Jax

Irene Jax, age 91, of Adams, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at the Adams
Health Care Center.  She was born Aug. 22, 1910, in Meyer, Iowa, to John
and Anna (Blake) Blaser. She attended school in Meyer.

She married Gregory Jax on Feb. 12, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church
in Meyer, Iowa. Together, they farmed in the Johnsburg area until their
retirement in 1978 when they moved to Adams.  Irene was a member of Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Adams. She enjoyed gardening and baking, but most
of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Eugene Heimer,
Adams; sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Sandy Jax, Bloomington; Bob and
Joann Jax, Mayer; David and Nancy Jax, Bloomington; John and Cindy Jax,
Adams; Chuck and Char Jax, Bloomington; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-
grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Armella Kramer, Osage, Iowa;
Kathleen Wiste, Adams; Rita and Ben Smith, Stacyville, Iowa; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Richard and Viola Blaser, Osage, Iowa; Kenneth and Lucille
Blaser, Osage, Iowa; Norbert Blaser, Adams; Gervis and Lucina Blaser,
Meyer, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1991; brother,
Roger Blaser; sister, Mildred Blaser.

Services were held on Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
with the Rev. Gregory Leif officiating.

Casket bearers were Michael Jax, Jason Jax, Eric Jax, Melissa Jax, Stephanie
Jax and Dawn Gilles.  Interment was in the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery in
Johnsburg.
