OBITUARY: Velma Marie (Kapka) Kruger, 1933-2005, Mitchell Co., Iowa

                         Velma Marie Kruger

Funeral services for Velma Marie Kruger, 72, of Riceville, Iowa, were
held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in 
Riceville, with Rev. Michael Parris officiating.

Velma passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in
Rochester, Minn.

Velma was born on May 17, 1933 in Riceville, Iowa to Julius and Gertrude
(Lubbert) Kapka. She was baptized and confirmed at Maple Leaf Lutheran
Church. Velma  graduated from Riceville High School in 1952. She worked
in the First National bank in Riceville after graduation from high school
until she married Donald Kruger in  1957. To this union two sons were born.
She moved about the USA and overseas with her husband until he retired
from the Air Force in 1982. They returned to live in Riceville in 1986.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents and one brother La Verne in 1986.

Survivors include her husband, Donald of Riceville, two sons Keith A.
Kruger of Wichita Falls, Texas and Eugene and his wife La Nell Kruger
of Wichita Falls, Texas, one brother, Orville Kapka of Riceville, Iowa
and two sisters: Wilma Gesell of Elma, Iowa and Velda Myers of Riceville,
Iowa.

Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville is in charge of arrangements.
