OBITUARY: Mrs. Lena Loney, 1870-1930, Mitchell Co., Iowa (Mitchell County News - August 20, 1930) MRS. LENA LONEY DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS Services are Held from Champion Funeral Home Mrs. Lena Loney died at Rochester Aug. 9, after an illness of about two weeks. She suffered from an intestinal obstruction, an illness coming on her suddenly. Mrs. Lena Loney was born at Blooming Prairie, Minn., April 18, 1870[?]. She grew to womanhood in that neighborhood. She was married to Charles Wesley Loney at Lancaster, Wis., and her husband preceded her in death, May 4, 1925. To them were born two children, Mrs. Martin Hultman and Merrill Loney, Osage. Surviving also are three brothers, Lewis Halvorson, of Minneapolis; Knute, Faribault, Minn., and Halvor, of Austin, Minn. She had one sister, Mrs. Julia Halvorson of Minneapolis. The last year of her life was spent at Little Cedar. Those who knew Mrs. Loney best, will remember her as kind, industrious woman, a good wife and mother. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Champion funeral home, in charge of the [services was] Rev. O.C. Myhre, and burial was made in the Osage cemetery.
