OBITUARY: Norbert F. Mullenbach, 1925-2002, Mitchell County, Iowa Norbert F. Mullenbach Norbert F. Mullenbach, 76, of Osage, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at St. Mary's hospital [Rochester, Minnesota]. Norbert, the son of Steve and Katie (Huemann) Mullenbach, was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Stacyville, Iowa. He married Irene Johanns on April 11, 1953, in New Haven. They farmed south of Stacyville until their retirement when they moved to Osage. Norbert was very active in the community, serving on Boards at Visitation Catholic Church, the Stacyville Coop Elevator, and the ASCS. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Irene, Osage; sons, Michael (Linda), St. Ansgar; Mark (Carol), Little Cedar; Steve, Balsam Lake, Wis.; daughters, Mary Ann, Minneapolis; Lisa Roe, Waverly; 11 grandchildren; brother, Ralph (Zola) of Stacyville; sisters, Helen Brown, Brighton, Col.; Dorothy McCarthy (Tom), McIntire; and two sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, three brothers, and one sister. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 26, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with the Fr. Philip Recker officiating. Interment was in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery, Stacyville. The Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of arrangements.
