OBITUARY: John Jennings Nicholson, 1832-1909, Mitchell County, Iowa

                                Nicholson

John Jennings Nicholson was born in Lincolnshire, England, February 27, 1832,
and died September 22, 1909 at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 23 days. 

He was married to Rebecca Fletcher North, December 24, 1883, at Scamblessby, 
Lincolnshire, England. To this union eight children were born two of which
are deceased, Geo. R. and Minnie. 

Mr. Nicholson together wiith his wife, started for America in February 1854, 
where they settled in DuPage county, Illinois. They lived there until 1883, 
when they moved to Mitchell county, living here ever since. 

Mr. Nicholson was brought up in the Episcopalian faith to which he held close
adherence.

The deceased leaves to mourn his death, a wife, and four sons, Will, of Iowa 
City, Charles of St. Ansgar; Wesley, of Dawson, N. D.; and Robert; two 
daughters, Mrs. A. C. Witzell and Lillian of this place.
