                  Funeral Services Are Held For Earl Nyce

Funeral services were held at Marshalltown last Thursday, September 12,
for Earl Nyce of Marshalltown, husband of the former Laura Kundson, who
was born and raised in the Osage community.  He died suddenly at work
on Tuesday, September 10.

Mr. Nyce was born on the Nyce homestead near Marshalltown on February 9,
1891, the son of Howard Preston and Anna Nyce.  He was graduated from the
Albion high school and attended business college in Marshalltown.

After his business education he started work in the Fidelity bank in
Marshalltown and continued his employment there until his death. He
married Laura Knudson in Osage on September 4, 1917.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. George Spuire of
St. Paul, Minn., and Virginia, student nurse at Augustana hospital in
Chicago.

Those attending from here attending the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs.
Shirley Teegarden, Mr. and Mrs. John Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kelly, Mr.
and Mrs. J. L. Knudson and Martin Wetter, all of Osage and the John
Markhams of Otranto.
