OBITUARY: Hobart Hall Penney, 1897-1901, Mitchell County, Iowa [Mitchell County Press] PENNEY Hobart Hall, youngest of the five children, and only son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Penney, of Stacyville, was born October 31, 1897, and died October 6, 1901, aged three years, eleven months, and six days. Hobert was a sweet, beautiful child the joy and hope not only of the family, but also of his aged grandparents, whose only grandson he was. All the tender hands and loving hearts could do was done, but the death angel came and kissed away the little spirit. The simple service, conducted by Rev. D. I. Coon, was held at the home on Tuesday, and the little body tenderly borne by Hobart's uncles was laid to rest in the midst of flowers, in the Stacyville cemetery. Among the hymns sung by the choir was, "I am Jesus' Little Lamb" a favorite with little Hobart, and one which he himself has often sung.
