OBITUARY: Elaine Ruth (Wilde) Pike, 1922-2001, Mitchell Co., Iowa

Elaine Ruth Pike, 79, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at her daughter's
home in Brownsdale, Minnesota.

She was born July 9, 1922, to Walter and Helena (Diedrich) Wilde on
the family farm in Mitchell County, Iowa.

She married Lawrence Leonard Pike Oct. 7, 1945, at St. John's Lutheran
Church, Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa.  She also had been baptized
and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran.  She was a member of the First
Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Pike and his wife, Rhonda, Sparta,
Wis.; two daughters, Linda Unverzagt and her husband, Edward,
Brownsdale; Helen Pike, Austin; five grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; one
sister, Lois Beyer; two brothers, LaVerne and Roland.

Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at First Lutheran Church, St.
Ansgar with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church with Schroeder
and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar in charge of arrangements.

Interment: First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar
