OBITUARY: Gladys Elfrieda Ulricke (Knoll) Rieck, 1909-1982, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Adapted from: St. Ansgar Enterprise -- 6 May 1982] Mrs. Elmer Rieck Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer Rieck, 72, of Grafton, who died Sunday, May 2 at her farm home near Grafton, were held Tuesday May 4, 1982 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, with Rev. Gary Panko officiating. Gladys Elfrieda Ulricke Knoll was born on a farm near St. Ansgar, Iowa, on November 24, 1909, the daughter of William and Emma (Krueger) Knoll. She was baptized December 19, 1909 by the Rev. Paul Brammer in her parent's home. She lived on the farm, and moved with her parents to St. Ansgar in May of 1924. She was confirmed at First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar on June 14, 1925 by Rev. M. E. Waldeland. She graduated from St. Ansgar high school in 1929. On February 1, 1942 she was married to Elmer Rieck of Grafton, in the Salem Lutheran church in Albert Lea, Minnesota, by Rev. W.J. Stromberg. They made their home on his father's farm near Grafton, where they lived all their married life. Mrs. Rieck was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Elmer. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran cemtery in St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Panko in charge of committal services. Copyright 2005, K.L. Kittleson
