OBITUARY: Leonard Gustav Louis Roehr, 1909-1982, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Adapted from St. Ansgar Enterprise - April 29, 1982] Leonard Roehr Funeral services for Leonard Roehr, 72, of Carpenter, Iowa, who died April 20, 1982 at Nora Springs Manor, were held April 23, 1982 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa, with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim and the Rev. Harold Larsen officiating. Leonard Gustav Louis Roehr was born April 23, 1909 in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa; the son of Alvin and Emma Roehr. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church, rural Osage. He farmed in the St. Ansgar and Osage areas, and then moved to Osage where he was a truck driver for Farmers Produce Co.; and in later years for Decklever Ready-Mix in Osage. Mr. Roehr was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ilene, a brother, Loren, and sisters, Elsie and Helen. He is survived by three brothers, Clyde of St. Ansgar, Donald of Waterloo, and Dale of Minneapolis; a sister, Mrs. Floyd (Ella) Howell of Rockford; two children: Mrs. Donald (Betty Jane) Borchardt of Plymouth, and Mrs. Roy (Shirley Jean) Pike of Mason City; also seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his wife Ruth; stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert (Judy) Jacobsen, LeROy, Minn., and Janice Roc of St. Louis Park, Minn.; six step grand-children.
