OBITUARY: Charles Rose, -1932, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Mitchell County Press -- June 9, 1932] Chas. Rose, Mitchell Died Suddenly of Heart Trouble Charles Rose, 70, a resident of the town of Mitchell for more than thirty years, passed away at his home a week ago Tuesday of heart disease. He had been ill for some time when the heart attack ended his life. The Rose family occupied a home near the Mitchell dam, and have a wide acquaintance over the county. Mr. Rose has been first assistant at the Cleveland farms for a good many seasons. Surviving is Mrs. Rose, who was Miss Mary Ella Hansen, of Rudd; and their seven children; Mrs. C. W. Contellee, of Elkart, Iowa; Miss Calla Rose, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs Harlan Kemp, of Mitchell; Mrs. Harry Hoover, of Owatonna; Mrs. Jean Plenka, of Rochester; and Delos and Kenneth, at Mitchell. All of the children were at the home at the time of his death. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock last Thursday afternoon at the Champion funeral home in charge of the Rev. E. E. Anderson, pastor of the Mitchell Community church, and burial was made at Rudd. Relatives from a distance who were present at the funeral were; Mrs. Hattie Ramsey and Mrs. Winnie Smith, both of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Thomas, of Clear Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Will Foster and daughter, of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mellstead of Rudd.
