OBITUARY: Leon Ross, 1869-1936, Mitchell County, Iowa [ Mitchell County Press- January 9, 1936 ] Lee Ross Died of Heart Attack Last Friday Morning Leon E. Ross, a long-time resident of this county, passed away at this home on Walnut Street last Friday morning, at the age of 66. Mr. Ross was born in Avon, Wis., February 19, 1869, and when 2 1/2 years of age came to Mitchell county with his parents. Here he grew to young manhood. On Feb. 21, 1887, he married Flora E. Boynton, and to them two daughters were born; Mrs. J. P. Wagner of Greene, Iowa, and Mrs. George Parkhurst, of Mitchell. His early life was spent in farming. Ten years ago he and his wife moved to Osage, where they cared for Mrs. Ross' aged parents until their death. Mr. Ross was a much respected, honorable citizen, and had many friends. Through all his sickness he showed great patience, manifesting the qualities of a true man. It seemed to be his constant thought to make as little trouble for his loved ones and possible.
