OBITUARY: Clem Theobald, 1920-2006, Mitchell County, Iowa [ Original version posted January. 25, 2006 -- Mitchell County Press online -- www.mcpress.com ] Clem Theobald Stacyville, Iowa -- Funeral services for Clem Theobald of Stacyville, Iowa, were held on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006 at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial was in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville. Clem Theobald, passed away on January 15, 2006 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, in Osage, Iowa at the age of 85. Clem, son of Thomas and Gertrude Theobald, was born on February 19, 1920 in Meyer, Iowa. From the time he finished school in Meyer Clem farmed east of Stacyville. He married Alvina Schrandt of Stacyville, Iowa in 1942, and together they operated the Theobald family farm until 1984. They then retired to their home in Stacyville. Clem was a 4-H leader and also served as an elevator board member and in the Knights of Columbus for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alvina, two brothers: Paul and Walter, five sisters: Mary, Isabelle, Rosella, Marcella and Sister Angelita, and one grandson. Clem is survived by his seven children: Ron (Valerie) Theobald of Burke, Virgina; Sue (Verlyn) Mullenbach of Stacyville; Mike Theobald of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Linda (Rob) Reding of Houston, Texas; Jane (Denton) Voss of Leawood, Kansas; Ed (Brenda) Theobald of Stacyville, and Tom (Darla) Theobald of Mankato, Minnesota; a sister, Helen Smith of Rochester, Minnesota; 18 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
