OBITUARY: Grace Brown Tupper, 1880-1934, Mitchell Co., Iowa GRACE TUPPER DIED THURSDAY AFTER BUT TWO DAYS ILLNESS Grace Brown Tupper was born on the old Tupper homestead in Lincoln Township Jan. 23, 1880, and died at her home in Osage Aug. 30, 1934, after a sickness of about two days. In apparent good health Tuesday, she was stricken without warning Tuesday afternoon and did not regain consciousness before her death early Thursday afternoon. She was the elder daughter of William and Flora Tupper both of whom preceded her in death. Her life, with the exception of one year at Iowa University, was lived in this community. Her only sister, Mrs. Fred Stearns, is left to mourn one who was more than a sister to her. Three nieces and two nephews, to whom she was devoted, besides many relatives, friends and neighbors, will miss her cheerful smile and helpful hand. Her place in church will be hard to fill, for she gladly gave much of her time and energy to any service she could render. As financial secretary of the Congregational church she has labored incessantly for several years. She has been a member of chapter A.W P.E.O. for many years, filling many of the offices and one-time serving as president. Thus in a few words is recorded a life lived unselfishly. What greater tribute can be given than "She lived for others".? This obituary is not to be used for commerical purposes.
