OBITUARY: Esther Johanna Elizabeth Von Bergen, 1897-1911, Mitchell, Iowa

                          Esther J. E. Von Bergen

                 Born August 12, 1897 - Died April 9, 1911

Esther Johanna Elizabeth Von Bergen was born August 12, 1897 as the eldest
daughter of John and Bertha Von Bergen.  She enjoyed good health until
February 23rd, when she was suddenly seized with general peritonitia,
suffering severe pain for weeks.  She seemed to be on the way to recovery
when on March 21st it was found necessary to remove an accumulation of
puss caused by a perferation of the bowels.  But only too soon it became
apparent that God had found other means to relieve her suffering.  Esther
knew it and cheerfully submitted to the will of the Lord.  She fell asleep
in peace Sunday April 9th, at the age of 13 years, 7 months and 27 days,
leaving her parents, a brother and two sisters to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday with interment at the G. L.
Cemetery, Rev. Brammer officiating.
