OBITUARY: Mary (Davies) Wing, 1836-1911, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Osage News] Mrs. John Wing Born Dec. 31, 1836 Died Sept. 11, 1911 Mrs John Wing whose maiden name was Mary Davies, daughter of Thomas and Eleanor Davies, was born in Buehla, South Wales, on December 31, 1836, and passed away at her home in Osage on Sept.11, 1911. When a child of seven years the family came to America and located at Utica, Oneida County, New York. Later they moved to Racine county, Wisconsin and settled on a farm where Mrs Wing passed her girlhood days. On January 1st, 1854 at Randell, Wisconsin, she was married to Mr. John D. Wing. This was their home until 1865, when they removed to Mitchell county, Iowa. Since 1877 the family has lived in Osage. Mrs. Wing was the mother of six children, namely; William Harrison, Ida Marie, Carrie Estella, John Thomas, Fred Ray and Warren Alva. Harrison and Fred have preceded their mother to the better land. She is survived by her husband, two sons, two daughters and two sisters. The sisters are Mrs. H. S. Pulver of this city and Mrs. R. Pritchard of Charles City. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, a steadfast friend and kind and thoughful neighbor. The funeral service was held from the late residence Wednesday, September 13th. Rev. F. W.
