She landed in New York in 1851 and the following year was married to John Beecher. They lived there for four and a half years. In 1855, they joined the early pioneers in the west and lived together on their farm north of Mitchell until 1902 and then moved to the home of their daughter, Mrs. Frank Bohach. Mr. Beecher died after a serious illness in February, 1908. Mrs. Beecher had been an invalid for many years of her life, but she remained cheerful in spite of her illness. Her death is the result of the intense heat which overcome her weakened heart. She died August 1, 1916, at the age of 89. Five children were born to them-two sons and three daughters, three children dying in infancy before coming to Iowa. Another daughter, Julia, died thirty- two years ago. One daughter, Mrs. Bohach, alone survives.
