Feldt Robertson klrob@hotmail.com August 2, 2006, 9:45 pm St. Ansgar Enterprise January 1925 Mabel Friederike Albertine Feldt was born in Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa on May 22, 1907. She was the seventh child of W. F. Feldt Jr. and Margaretha nee Dreher. On June 16, 1907, the little girl received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism in The St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Irrespectively of pneumonia by which the deceased was repeatedly attacked during the first five years of life she enjoyed good health and developed in a normal way. Having reached the proper age, Mabel started attending school where she proved herself an industrious scholar. In 1916, her life was gloomed by the death of her father deeper than she could be aware of on account of her youth. Still more advanced in years she joined our Confirmation class and after being duly instructed in religion she was confirmed April 09, 1922. From then on the departed was most of the time absent from home earning for herself the necessaries of life by going into service with other people. The last 15 months were spent by her as clerk in a business concern at St. Paul, Mn., where her service rendered was highly esteemed and where she most likely would have stayed in the occupied position for quite a while had not God summoned her to rest. Mabel took sick December 20 and on the 26th she was removed to the hospital at St. Paul. No human skill could withhold death. From the start of her sickness the deceased was not deluded as to the seriousness of her condition, but uttered thoughts of death right away. So she looked up to her only Saviour and relied upon His mercy, submitting herself to His will and longing for the crown of life with which her soul is adorned now as we have every reason to believe. She departed from this life last Friday, January 02, at 11:15 a.m., having reached an age of 17 years, 7 months, and 11 days. Cause of her death was double pneumonia with complications. Those she leaves to mourn her as we think untimely death are: Her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Harcourt, five brothers and three sisters; Mrs. Hattie Gutman of Randall, Mn., Alvin Feldt of Eldora, Iowa, Clarence Feldt of Chicago, Ill., Lawrence Feldt of Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. Alice Ellingson of Lansing, Mn., Laura, Edward and Willard Feldt at hoome, her grandfather, seven uncles, six aunts and a great number of other relatives and friends. The funeral was held Monday afternoon and the remains were interred in the Ev. Luth. St. John's Cemetery. Rev. J. Gemaehlich officiated. The large number of friends that attended the funeral attested to their sympathy with the afflicted family in their sad bereavement. Pall bearers were Arthur Dieterich, Paul Hartwig, Julius Tesch, Joseph Beyer, Siegfried Tesch, Walter Dieterich. Flower girls were Laura Krause, Lavina Beyer, Hedwig and Alma Koschmieder. Those attending the funeral from far off were Mrs. Wm. Weber of Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. T.M. Connors of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Fred Grap of St. Paul, Minn., W. G. Dreher of Nora Springs, Iowa, Winefred Dreher of Mason City, Iowa, Will Harcount of Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. and Mrs. E.L. Dreher of Eldora, Iowa.
