Feldt Robertson klrob@hotmail.com July 31, 2006, 9:42 pm St. Ansgar Enterprise March 1916 William Frederick Feldt was born May 25, 1872 on the Atlantic Ocean. His parents, Mr. Wm Feldt, Sr. and his first wife, being at that time on their journey to America. Soon after their arrival in this country, the deceased was baptised. The family settled in June, 1872, at Mitchellville, Iowa. Three years later, in 1875, they moved to Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa, where they have since lived. On January 09, 1888, the deceased was confirmed. He was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Dreher on Oct. 14, 1894. Nine children were born to them, four girls and five boys. The deceased was a kind husband and father who always liked to see his family happy and satisfied. He was a true christian and a member of the Ev. Lutheran St. John church at Rock township. He took sick in September last, had an operation at Osage on October 12 and again at Rochester on October 28, both being unsuccessful. During his long illness he was always patient, never complained and after all hopes of recovery was gone, he faced the inevitable with the spirit of a faithful christian. He died on March 25, 1916, his age being 43 years and ten months. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and nine children, father and step- mother, one brother and two sisters and a son-in-law. One sister, one brother and his mother were already waiting for him in the beyond. The funeral services were held on March 27, Rev. Reineke officiating. The large attendance was very consoling for the grief stricken family and proved how well he was liked among his neighbors. In spite of the bad roads, we think that Mr. Feldt's funeral was the largest ever held at Rock Creek church. Those from far away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Weber and John Weber of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Connors, Raymond and Mabel Connors, R. W. Dreher all of Emery, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grap, St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Dreher and Mr. Will Dreher of Dyke, Iowa, Mr. Albert Piper of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Miller of Osage, Iowa Additional Comments: William Frederick Feldt Jr. was the submitter's grandfather File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ia/mitchell/obits/f/feldtjr72nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/iafiles/ File size: 2.8 Kb
