The Rev. Donald Comnick, pastor, was in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery. Earl Clifford Thorson, son of Ole E. and Amelia Thorson, was born on a farm in Newburg Township, Mitchell County, May 29, 1893. He was baptized by the Rev. Johann Olsen and was confirmed by the Rev. M. E. Waldeland at First Lutheran Church. He attended rural school and St. Ansgar High School He was married to Marie Tonette Mehus, Oct.3, 1917, at the First Lutheran Church. They established their home on a farm at St. Ansgar. He was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church. He farmed for many years and at the time of his death he was a part-time employee of the Campbell Commission Company of South St. Paul. Aug. 23, he underwent surgery following injuries received in an automobile accident near Forest City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, his parents, two brothers, Roy and Donald, and one granddaughter. He was survived by his three daughers, Mrs.Wilmer (Delores) Feldt, Mrs. Arlene Kroneman and Mrs. Robert (Anita) Rustad of St. Ansgar; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild, three sisters; Mrs. Alma Sanders of Northwood, Mrs. Otto W. (Mildred) Tesch of St. Ansgar, Mrs. William (Rose) Fries of Kansas City, Mo. and three brothers; Leon and Annis of St. Ansgar and Hubert of Mason City.
