BURINGRUD-HALVORSON NUPTIALS EXCHANGED
   In an impressive candlelight service Sunday evening, March 14, 1948, 
Marilyn Buringrud of Lyle, MN, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Galen Buringrud of St. 
Ansgar, was united in marriage to Sgt. John Halvorson, son of Mr. & Mrs. Elmer 
Halvorson of St. Ansgar.  The double ring ceremony took place at the First 
Lutheran church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. O. A. Langehough officiating.  
Mrs. Wayne Ruechel played the processional and recessional and Miss Joann 
Halvorson sang "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer."
   The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white marquisette gown 
over satin with elbow length gloves.  She carried a white Bible with streamers 
of roses, carnations and sweet peas. 
   Miss Joann Halvorson, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor.  She 
wore a teal blue marquisette gown over satin and carried a colonial bouquet of 
roses, carnations and sweet peas.  Miss Betty Lundene was bridesmaid and wore 
a gown of blue marquisette over satin and also carried a colonial bouquet of 
roses, carnations and sweet peas.  Marjorie Halvorson was flower girl, dressed 
in a dotted swiss formal gown and carrying a bouquet.  
   Gerald and Elton Halvorson attended the bridegroom.  Ushers were Robert 
Thorson and Raymond Berg and David Falk was ring bearer.
   Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the parish house for 60 
guests.  Sgt. and Mrs. Halvorson left Tuesday for Ft. Bragg, N. Carolina, 
where he is stationed.  Both the bride and groom were graduated from the St. 
Ansgar high school, he in 1946 and she in 1947.
