St. Ansgar, IA Eclipse - June 1946
   Miss Betty Marie Haugstad, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Haugstad of 
Lanesboro, Minnesota, became the bride of Gerald H. Halvorson, son of Mr. & 
Mrs. Clarence Halvorson of St. Ansgar, Iowa in a double ring ceremony 
performed at the parsonage of the Lanesboro Lutheran church at 11 o'clock 
Saturday, June 22, 1946.  The Rev. Nesande officiated at the ceremony in the 
presence of the immediate families.
   The bride was attended by Mrs. Melvin Quam of Austin, a sister of the 
bridegroom.  The bridegroom was attended by his brother-in-law, Melvin Quam of 
Austin.  
   Following the ceremony, a reception dinner was held at the home of Mr. & 
Mrs. George Toppness, sister & brother-in-law of the bride with 35 guests 
present.
   The couple left for Dorset, Minnesota where they will spend a week at 
Innerlee Lodge, after which they will be at home near St. Ansgar where the 
bridegroom will assist his father with the farm work until September when they 
will move to Ames,IA where he will atend the Iowa State College.
   The bridegroom has served 43 months in the armed forces and received his 
discharge on November 1, 1945.
