C. Herrling of Charles City, IA, became the bride of Ivan H. Closs in an informal ceremony performed by Rev. C. G. Protengeier, pastor of the Lutheran church in Charles City, IA Saturday evening. The vows were spoken in the presence of the bride's parents, her sister, Helen, and D. T. Closs, brother of the bridegroom. After a short wedding trip, the bridal couple returned to St. Ansgar and are making their home in an apartment in the old Citizen's bank building. The bride was graduated with a B.A. degree from Iowa State Teachers' college in 1928. She was a member of Pi Gamma Mu sorority and was active in campus activities. For the past four years, she has been teaching in the Waverly, IA schools. Mr. Closs was born and reared here and attended school here and in Waterloo and Charles City. Before coming to St. Ansgar last June, he was proprietor of a print shop in Edwardsville, Illinois. He served three years in the army, being attached to the adjutant general's office and was employed by the Charles City Press and other newspapers. He is now employed as linotype operator and printer by the St. Ansgar Enterprise.
