IA Press News - October 31, 1940 Helen Thelma Smesrud, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Herman Smesrud, of St. Ansgar, IA, became the bride of Julius Tesch of Brownsdale, MN at high noon, October 24th, at the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. O. A. Langehough performed the single ring ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Robert Nyman, of Woden, as matron of honor. Robert Nyman was the best man. The bride wore an afternoon dress of rose faille paca with dubonnet accessories and a corsage of gardenias. The matron of honor wore a soldier blue dress and had a corsage of pink rose buds. Following the ceremony a three course dinner was served to the bridal couple, their attendants, the immediate relatives and the Rev. & Mrs. O. A. Langehough. Helen Jean Houg and Mary Elaine Langehough were the waitresses. Mrs. Tesch was graduated from the St. Ansgar high school and Mankato Commercial college. She has been employed as bookkeeper for the Ellingson Motor company and acts as secretary for the St. Ansgar Oil company. Mr. Tesch was graduated from the Osage high school and the State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, Ia. For the past four years he was a member of the St. Ansgar school faculty; this year he is an instructor in the Brownsdale, MN school. He is a son of the Henry Tesch's, of west of Mitchell, IA. Mr. & Mrs. Tesch left in the afternoon for St. Paul, MN where they attended the Minnesota state teachers convention on Friday and Saturday, and also took in the Iowa - Minnesota football game Saturday afternoon. They will start housekeeping at Brownsdale as soon as the new home, which they will occupy, is completed.
