St. Ansgar, IA Enterprise - January 1, 1936
   The wedding of Miss Laurene Thoe, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. L. E. Thoe of Lake 
Mills, IA and Harold C. Parker, son of Mrs. Frances Parker, took place at the 
home of the bride's parents at noon Christmas day.
   The bride is a graduate of the Lake Mills high school, class of 1931.  She 
has been employed in the Union Department Store at Lake Mills.  Mr. Parker is 
a graduate of the St. Ansgar high school, class of 1931 and is owner and 
manager of the Rite-Way Food Store here.
   The single ring ceremony was read by the Rev. W. J. Witter, pastor of the 
Lake Mills Methodist church.  A sister of the bride, Miss Lillian Thoe, played 
the wedding march from Lohengrin as the couple took their places for the 
ceremony.  Another sister, Miss Elaine Thoe, was maid of honor.  Arnold Wold, 
a friend of the bridegroom, was best man.  About thirty guests were present.
   Following the wedding, a three course dinner was served to the bridal party 
and guests at the home.  Later the couple left by auto for Minneapolis where 
they remained over the weekend, returning here Sunday.
