A small, wood Preparation Cemetery sign on the west side of Highway 183. A post office was present intermittently at Preparation from September 8, 1854 - February 29, 1904. The Moorhead post office was established May 6, 1872 and has been in operation to the present time. Preparation is often referred to as being at Moorhead. Walk and recorded by Karen Olson, Bellevue, Nebraska on July 20, 2001. Some stones are badly weathered and difficult to read so no guarantee is made as to accuracy. This cemetery appears to have many more burials then there are stones judging from the large, open spaces between stones in many areas. This is a complete listing of this cemetery (169 graves) as of July 20, 2001 except for possible unmarked graves.
