O. B. Anderson Of Onawa Performed The Ceremony. Immediate Relatives Attended __________ At the Soldier Valley Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 18, at 11:00 A.M. a ceremony was performed uniting Miss Bethine Skow and The Rev. Gabriel Tweet, pastor of the church here at Soldier. Mr. Ira Tweet of Eliva, Wisconsin, brother of the groom, and Miss Cora Nelsen, witnessed the ceremony which was given by Rev. O. B. Anderson, pastor of the Lutheran Church in Onawa. Only the immediate relatives of the couple attended. Bethine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bennett H. Skow, well known people of this community. She is a graduate of the Soldier High School with the class of 1933, in which she was an active member in school activities and an honor student of her class. She has been employed at the Sandvolds and Son store here for several months where she was en efficient clerk. Bethine has always been very active in church work and has filed the office of organist for several Years. She is a fine young lady, on who holds the respect of all the people of Soldier. She is popular among the younger set, who admire her for the sterling qualities which she possesses. Rev. Gabriel Tweet was born at Eliva, Wisconsin in 1908. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Tweet of that place. He grew up on a farm and attended the rural schools, graduating from the Eliva High School in 1925 at the age of 16. In the fall of 1923 he entered St. Olaf College at Northfield, Minn. from which place he graduated in 1929. The fall of that year the(sic) entered the Lutheran Seminary at St. Anthony Park, St. Paul, Minn., graduating from there in the spring of 1932. In September 1932 he was ordained in Holy Ministry of the Church. Rev. Tweet was assistant pastor of Bethany Lutheran Congregation at Brooklyn, New York for one year, at which time he took past graduate work at General Theological Seminary of Diocese of New York. In July 1933 he took up the pastorate at Soldier, and has been re-hired at a raise in salary. Since coming to Soldier Rev. Tweet has made a host of friends, not only here but all over this part of the country. He has proven himself to be capable, industrious, popular and broadminded in his teachings. Soldier is indeed fortunate to have Rev. Tweet at the head of their congregation. The Soldier Sentinel force joins with all the other people of Soldier in wishing Rev. and Mrs. Tweet all the success and happiness that life can give.
