Thoreson Dies			(From the collection of Vivian Norby Andersen)

	Funeral services were held Monday, June 26 for Dr. Henry Theodore 
Aker, 71, at Canton Lutheran church.  He died suddenly June 22 at his home.
	Dr. Aker was a member of the South Dakota State Board of Dental 
Examiners for the past ten years, serving as secretary and treasurer.  He was 
honored in 1950 by the dental profession by being named to the Pierre Fauchard 
academy, a national society recognizing outstanding servie(sic) in the field 
of general dentistry.
	He was one of nine children.  He was graduated from Augustana college 
in Canton in 1911 and Northwestern U. dental school in Chicago in 1915.
	He married Grace Thoreson in 1916.
	Mr. Aker was a World War I veteran, member of American Legion, Rotary 
Club and Masonic lodge.  He had served on the city commission and Augustana 
college board.
	Surviving Dr. Aker are his wife, his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and 
Mrs. Gordon Hayes, two grandchildren, Carol Marie and William Henry, all of 
Pierre, and one sister.
	Following are a few of those who attended the funeral:  Mrs. and Mrs. 
Glenn Thoreson, Martin B. Olson, Mrs. Gale Winegar, Mr. and Mrs. Kleon 
Ballantyne, Mrs. Harold Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Dick smith, Mr. and Mrs. Merle 
Mock, Miss Mabel Ericksen, Raymond Thoreson and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Thoreson.
