OBITUARY				(From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Elmer Orren Amundson, son of Ole and Jeanette Chloe Amundson, was born 
August 11, 1891 at Soldier, Monona County, Iowa, and died suddenly of a heart 
attack on March 4, 1967 at the home of a daughter in Independence, Missouri.
	He spent his boyhood with his parents on a farm near Soldier where he 
attended the Soldier public school.  He was baptized into the Reorganized 
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on August 14, 1899.  
	On March 29, 1916 he was united in marriage to Lula Kenning, a 
schoolteacher in  Moorhead, Iowa.  To this union were born five daughters.  
They made their home on a farm adjoining that of his parents, where they lived 
for thirty years.
	In May 1946 they moved to Independence where they have since made 
their church home with the Enoch Hill Congregation of the church.
	He was ordained to the office of Deacon in 1954, in which priesthood 
he served faithfully and well.
	
	He is survived by his wife, Lula, and five daughters, Effie Nadine 
Tucker of Independence; Velma Leone Sherman of Independence; Evelyn Marjorie 
Sackett of Newburgh, New York; Veda Ozell Campbell of Independence, and Helen 
Janice Inouye of Honolulu, Hawaii; three brothers, Alma V. Amundson of Lamoni, 
Iowa; Fred R. Amundson of White City, Oregon, and Harold R. of Anaheim, 
California; one sister, Ruby G. Struble of Turin, Iowa, and thirteen 
grandchildren, together with other relatives and many friends and neighbors, 
who join his loved ones this day in paying tribute to his memory.
